That was the amazing thing about so much of Chicago, that from a third floor perch you could see almost as far as there was to see in a given direction. The view was unblocked by buildings, the clouds were usually dramatic; the great expanse seemed both humbling and self-minimizing, but also full of possibility at the same time. I spent a lot of hours daydreaming from that perch looking out on that view…

(written from my couch, looking out on the view I’ve had for the last 9.5 years(!)…)
